About Bob
|
Hi!
My name is Bob Ellern. I put the "Bob" in Bob's Rods.
My friend (the owner/Webmaster of L.T. Creations) and I built this web
page to have a place for our friends and ourselves to sell our cars and
parts.
|
A little about myself.
I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. My father owned a brake
garage. At the age of 5, my dad would set a pan with solvent in it under
the backing plate and I would wash it down. So I kind of feel like I was
born in a garage.
|
When I was 13, I bought my first car. It was a 1936 Ford hump back.
I wasn't old enough to title it - or drive it - so all I did was work on
it...except when no one was looking! Like any 13 year old with who owns
a car, my friends and I would take it out on the street to lay some
rubber.
|
At the age of 15, another friend and I bought a stock car, a 1929
model A-5 window coupe. We raced in the "C" class at the State
Line Gardens.
|
At 19 my friend and I bought a sprint car and raced it in the
Canadian American Modified Racing Associations (C.A.M.R.A.) We raced
with guys like the Melloy Brothers, Art Pollard, and Billy Foster. All
great drivers who later lost their lives at Indy.
|
Raising a family slowed me down but never stopped me...completely.
I have owned and built hot rods all my life, too many to keep tract of.
|
I'm a member of the Mid America Willys Club and will have on going
projects in my home..er, garage, till the day I die.
|
We really hope you enjoy coming to Bob's Rods and checking out the
cars we will have displayed. Come by often because we intend to have our
site change with new great shots of hot rods as backgrounds in addition
to having the classifieds section of our site ever changing.
|
If you have a high quality image you think we need here at Bob's
Rods, send it on over and we'll take a look.
|
Thanks for coming by, and enjoy yourself.
